Welcome to Felix Culpa's REVENGE actors blog

Hi there. My name is Raphael Kepinski and I'm going to give you a behind the scenes look at the rehearsals of Felix Culpa's Revenge. I'll be posting a bunch of photos from the rehearsals and whatever else comes to my mind. One thing you should remember though; rehearsing a play is pretty boring work, most of the time it's done in a drably lit room, with malnourished actors ambling about trying to figure out what's going on and why the director is yelling at them. Things are done over and over and over and over ad nauseum and everyone is tired and confused. It's not until the costumes and lights are in place, and everyone knows their lines and where to stand that the show becomes a something, so with that in mind don't expect this to be some glamorous exciting show biz blog but rather a look at a work in progress.

Costumes!

Yesterday costume diva Mara Gottler and her assistant Sydney Cavanah came with beautiful costumes for us to try on.
  • I suggested the sunglasses but they got turned down; not period enough.
  • Meghan Kinsley, Anna Hagan, and Cherise Clarke look hot in a 16th century kind of way.
  • Sydney helps Josue Laboucane with a quick change during a run. The quick changes are rehearsed like a dance so they'll run smoothly during the show and the actor won't miss their cue.
Today was our first look at the actual theatre. You can see the lighting folk are hard at work hanging up the lights. It's hard work carrying heavy lights up and down those ladders. Stay tuned cause next up are pictures of the set with lights and colour.
