Welcome to Felix Culpa's REVENGE actors blog

Hi there. My name is Raphael Kepinski and I'm going to give you a behind the scenes look at the rehearsals of Felix Culpa's Revenge. I'll be posting a bunch of photos from the rehearsals and whatever else comes to my mind. One thing you should remember though; rehearsing a play is pretty boring work, most of the time it's done in a drably lit room, with malnourished actors ambling about trying to figure out what's going on and why the director is yelling at them. Things are done over and over and over and over ad nauseum and everyone is tired and confused. It's not until the costumes and lights are in place, and everyone knows their lines and where to stand that the show becomes a something, so with that in mind don't expect this to be some glamorous exciting show biz blog but rather a look at a work in progress.

Rehearsing a Scene

I promised you real actors acting so here it is. Here's how a scene is put together. Director James Fagan Tait watches as the scene is played with what was set in an earlier rehearsal. He runs in and changes some stuff around. They do it again. Jimmy and Rachel Peake, assistant to the director confer. Actors James Pizzinato and Anna Hagan watch and wait for their turn. Jimmy makes more changes and they play out the scene again until someone is happy or until it's time for lunch. This week the production moves closer to the performance space and begins to rehearse at the Firehall rehearsal space. Stay tuned for images from the Firehall... Here's a great action shot to leave you out on. (Don't worry no one got hurt in the making of that)
